But it was condemned as a timid budget which showed he was more concerned about the independence referendum than employment. In local news; The First Minister has given assurances that he'll do everything he can to reduce the number of redundancies at services company May Gurney. Two hundred and fifty jobs are under threat at their bases in Aberdeen, Dundee and Falkirk. It's thought seventy positions may go in Dundee. Meanwhile; the home of a prominent Perth businessmen has been ravaged by fire. The blaze at an upmarket development near Gleneagles was tackled by twenty firefighters. Also in sport; Aberdeen have successfully overturned skipper Russell Anderson's red card at Inverness. He was sent off for the first time in his career for this challenge last weekend.
